Regarding an operation that thwarted a military Hamas cell from Tul Karm in the last few hours: The cell was responsible for the murder of an Israeli citizen, injuring others, planning bombing attacks and other attacks on Israeli settlements.
As part of the operation, forces apprehended the perpetrators in the village of Deir al-Ghusun in Tul Karm. During the exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed and another was arrested for SHABAK’s investigation. One officer was slightly wounded during the operation, who was evacuated for medical treatment.
Following specific intelligence information received by SHABAK in recent days, a hunt began in collaboration with the IDF and police for a Hamas cell whose activity carried out numerous shootings, explosive and car bomb attacks.
Among them, an attack on 02/11/23 in the area of Beit Lid Junction in Samaria where reserve soldier Rasan Alhanan Ariel Klein was killed and another officer was injured, and a gunfire and car bomb attack on 07/04/24 on Route 55 in Samaria, near Nabi Elias junction, which injured two Israelis, including a female soldier.
The four terrorists from Tul Karm are:
1. Adnan Taysir Kamel Samara – A military Hamas activist from Tul Karm, previously imprisoned several times due to involvement in Hamas activities.
2. Alaa Adib Abed Aljabar Sarita – Prominent Hamas activist, served 14 years in prison between 2002-2016 due to involvement in military activities.
3. Tamer Abdel Latif Rahech Rahech – Hamas activist from the village of Shuweika.
4. Aseel Beshir Tawfiq Badran – Formerly imprisoned PLO activist from the village of Deir al-Ghusun, due to involvement in military activities. Two of his brothers were terrorists during the Second Intifada.
In recent months, several activists and accomplices who were involved in the cell’s activity were arrested for SHABAK investigation, admitting to involvement in attacks and funded by Hamas.
