Joint Message to the IDF Spokesperson and the ISA Spokesperson:
The IDF and the ISA have eliminated the commander of the Shuja’iyya brigade of the Hamas terrorist organization, who was responsible for the APC disaster during “Operation Protective Edge” and sent the Nahal Oz terrorists to a kibbutz and Nahal Oz post on October 7.
The IDF, guided by accurate intelligence information from AMAN and the ISA, earlier today eliminated the commander of the Shuja’iyya battalion of the Hamas terrorist organization, Wissam Faraht, by means of air force fighter jets.
Faraht has commanded the brigade since 2010 and led it during the “Operation Protective Edge”, during which he commanded the terrorists in the APC disaster, where six IDF soldiers were killed: First Sergeant Oren Simcha Noach RIP, Sergeant Shahar Tasa RIP, Sergeant Ben Vanunu RIP, Sergeant Max Steinberg RIP, Sergeant Carson Menashe RIP, First Sergeant Daniel Pomerantz RIP, and First Sergeant Oron Shaul RIP was kidnapped.
Faraht participated in planning the brutal attack on Israeli territory on October 7, and sent the Nahal Oz terrorists that day towards a kibbutz and Nahal Oz post. Also, Faraht was one of the planners of the attack on the pre-military academy in ‘Atzmona’ in 2002, which resulted in the death of five Israelis, and he was one of the instigators of the RPG fire towards the bus in Nahal Oz in 2011, which resulted in the death of an Israeli child.
In 1995, on his way to carry out a suicide attack on the Israeli territory, Faraht was arrested by security forces and imprisoned in an Israeli jail for ten years. After returning to the Strip, he worked in the terrorist organization’s missile production areas.
Since the beginning of the fighting, the IDF and the ISA have significantly damaged the capacity of the Shuja’iyya brigade, starting from the elimination of the top command down to the destruction of infrastructure and means of warfare.
