Nerdeen Kiswani is a Palestinian-American Muslim woman who founded and currently leads Within Our Lifetime (WOL), a pro-Palestinian and terrorist organization operating against the State of Israel and Jews worldwide. Kiswani, aged 29, established WOL in 2015 and has been at its helm ever since. Prior to this, she was the president of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the City University of New York Law School. Kiswani has made numerous statements calling for the abolishment of the “illegitimate” state of Israel, including in a 2022 law school commencement address. Her rhetoric often includes strong anti-Israel sentiments, inciting violence and advocating for the death of all Jews and the total destruction of the Jewish state of Israel. She has led chants at protests with slogans such as “There is only one solution, Intifada revolution,” reflecting her belief in and desire for violent resistance.
Kiswani and WOL have expressed support for Hamas and the Palestinian resistance against Israel. The Anti-Defamation League has reported that Kiswani seemingly praised Hamas on social media. Under her leadership, WOL has organized numerous protests in New York City, including demonstrations at JFK International Airport, in the Bronx, and in Manhattan. These protests often feature rhetoric and slogans that many consider to be incitement to violence and terrorism.
In November 2023, Kiswani reportedly appeared on Iranian government-backed TV, where she asserted that “Resistance is the only way” forward in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This appearance, along with her other public statements, has further solidified her position as a prominent figure in the pro-Palestinian movement. Her extreme rhetoric and actions have led to her being banned from multiple social media platforms for breaching community guidelines, with Instagram permanently disabling her account in February 2024.
