This week, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Amir Baram, conducted a professional visit hosted by his counterparts from the U.S. military and met with senior commanders from CENTCOM (Central Command), NORTHCOM (Northern Command), the Navy, the IDF Operations Division, and the Department of Defense to strengthen the fruitful cooperation between the armies and the preparation for emerging challenges.
During his visit, the Deputy Chief of Staff held a strategic discussion with senior U.S. military officials and the Pentagon regarding the war plans in the south and north, preparations against Iran and its affiliates, and the shared interests of the IDF and the U.S. military in the Middle East.
Simultaneously, the Deputy Chief of Staff discussed with his counterparts how to accelerate the supply of necessary munitions to the IDF, and the joint mechanisms for speeding up and monitoring were agreed upon.
As part of his visit, the Deputy Chief of Staff awarded the Chief of Staff’s Medal to the former Deputy Commander of U.S. Central Command (currently serving as the Commander of U.S. Northern Command), General Gregory M. Guillot (****), in recognition of his significant contribution to the security of the State of Israel during the “Iron Swords” war.
Additionally, the Deputy Chief of Staff presented a certificate of appreciation from the IDF to the U.S. destroyer “USS Carney,” which recently completed a 7-month deployment in the Middle East, during which it intercepted dozens of drones and missiles fired from Iranian territory and its proxies toward the State of Israel, thus greatly contributing to the overall defense effort.
