Joint message from the IDF Spokesperson and the Shin Bet Spokesperson:

The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated the head of Hamas’ terrorist organization in Tulkarm in a targeted operation in Menashe.

IDF forces from the Haruv, Duvdevan units, and Unit 636, together with forces from Shin Bet and Border Police, launched a focused operation to thwart terrorism in Tulkarm in the Menashe Brigade as part of a series of more than 50 brigade-level operations since the beginning of the war. The forces engaged in exchanges of fire with several armed terrorists and destroyed explosives that were planted along the roads.

During the operation, remotely piloted aircraft targeted terrorists from various terrorist organizations in the area, including wanted individuals who promoted and carried out terrorist acts against IDF forces and the State of Israel from the Tulkarm refugee camp.

Among the terrorists eliminated was Ashraf Nafa, the head of Hamas’ terrorist organization in the Tulkarm refugee camp area. As part of his activities, he was responsible for the production and placement of explosives against IDF forces as well as recruiting terrorist operatives for Hamas. In addition, he participated in several attacks against IDF forces in Judea and Samaria and maintained contact with Hamas elements abroad that promote terrorist activities in the Judea and Samaria area.

The terrorist Muhammad Odeh was also eliminated; he was part of the terrorist organization in the Tulkarm camp and had carried out shooting attacks against IDF forces. Additionally, he raised significant sums of money for funding terrorist activities in the area and was involved in purchasing equipment and weapons for operations in his squad.
