Joint message for the IDF Spokesperson and Shin Bet Spokespersons:

The IDF and Shin Bet terminated in an aerial attack the commander of Hamas terror organization’s Battalions and his deputy

Ismail Saraj, the commander of the Battalions and his deputy, Ahmad Wahba, were killed this evening (Saturday) in an attack by the Air Force, led by the Southern Command and directed by the Intelligence Division and the Shin Bet.

Saraj, commander of the Battalions in the Hamas terror organization, previously served as commander of Hamas’s Nukhba unit and as a producer of rocket warfare means.

His deputy, Ahmad Wahba, was appointed as his deputy after the IDF and Shin Bet had eliminated the previous deputy, Abdel-Rahman, in the opening weeks of the fight. Wahba filled numerous field and staff roles in the Hamas terror organization, including involvement in the organization’s training program. In addition to these, he was involved in promoting the execution of attacks from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.

Numerous significant raids executed by the Battalions against Israel on October 7th emerged from Israeli towns near Gaza and specifically Kibbutz Beeri. During the fighting, Battalion members were involved in promoting the shooting of RPGs and unmanned aircraft towards IDF forces.
