IDF forces are participating in efforts to extinguish the fires in the north.
In recent hours, situation assessments are being held at the Operations Division, Northern Command, and Home Front Command together with fire and rescue forces in order to allocate additional means, forces, and firefighting capabilities for the effort to extinguish the fires in the north.
At this stage, reserve forces, engineering tools, mechanical equipment, fire trucks, and water tankers have been reinforced.
Fighters from the firefighting battalion of the Home Front Command are operating on the ground and assisting the firefighting forces.
The forces have gained control over the fire hotspots, and at this stage, there is no threat to human life.
The Northern Command commander, Major General Uri Gordin, is currently arriving at a fire station in Kiryat Shmona.
Six reserve fighters were lightly injured as a result of smoke inhalation and were evacuated to the hospital; their families have been informed.
