Semyon Abdalimov, 66 years old, was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7th in Sderot.
Semyon immigrated to Israel with his family as a train driver, and when he settled in Sderot –
he became the most recognizable color in the city, and also the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren

His Story

Semyon, son of Neeson and Tylo, was born on December 19, 1956 in Derbent, in Dagestan in southern Russia.
Raised in Derbent with his four brothers, he was educated in a local school and in the large community of Caucasian Jews.
After his studies, he enlisted in the Georgian army, serving for two years as a driver for commanders in the army.
When he was released from the army he returned to Derbent, a short time later he married Dinor. The couple built their house in the city and in the following years their two daughters were born – Chaya and Irena.
Semyon worked for years as a train locomotive driver, and also worked as a bus driver transporting children to schools.

In 1993 the family immigrated to Israel. Lived in Hadera for about a year and then moved to Sderot. Semyon worked as a handyman, supported his family with dignity and was known and loved in the entire city.
His daughters grew up and married, and he got to enjoy seven grandchildren.

On the morning of Saturday, October 7, Semyon left his house to walk around the neighborhood and smoke a cigarette in the open air, as he does every week. Hamas terrorists who arrived in the city shot him dead.

On this day over fifty residents of the city, civilians and policemen were murdered in Sderot.

Semyon Abdalimov was murdered by terrorists in his city of Sderot on October 7, 2023, and he is sixty-six years old. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Sderot.
