Humanitarian Aid Operations Update – April 2023
Crossing Closure Agreement
In line with the agreement reached with the US, Egypt, and the UN,
the Kerem Shalom and Nitzana crossings will be closed on Saturdays.
This is to facilitate the UN’s distribution of goods on the Gazan
side of Kerem Shalom and the reception on the Egyptian side of Rafah.
Aid Distribution Statistics
A total of 133 trucks were distributed within Gaza, with 79 of these
trucks containing food supplies. Additionally, there was a coordinated
effort for aid to northern Gaza, where 92 private sector trucks were
sent on April 20. Furthermore, 4 tankers of cooking gas designated
for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza entered the region
on the same day.
Foreign Nationals and Bakery Operations
On April 20, 2 foreign nationals were scheduled to exit Gaza. In terms
of food production, 25 bakeries are currently operational in Gaza,
providing over 3 million breads, rolls, and pita breads daily.
Evacuations and Infrastructure Repairs
So far, 3,259 injured and sick individuals and 737 escorts have been
evacuated from the strip. The repair of vital infrastructure is
currently underway.
Humanitarian Aid Movement Pause
Today, April 21, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations
in the Rafah refugee camp to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
