Field Hospital Developments in Rafah

A field hospital in Rafah operated by the Red Crescent is expected to begin treating patients in the coming days. With a capacity of 50 beds and a personnel of 120, the hospital includes 6 intensive care units and 3 operating rooms.

Water Supply Project Update

The first phase of establishing a water line from mobile desalination facilities located on the Egyptian side to the Rafah area was completed. This project is carried out by the United Arab Emirates and is designed to supply water to approximately 150 thousand people.

Humanitarian Aid Progress

As of Dec. 17, UN aid trucks have begun to undergo security checks and be transferred directly to Gaza via Kerem Shalom, to abide by our agreement with the US. This has increased the daily volume of humanitarian aid entering Gaza and being delivered to the people of Gaza.

Yesterday (Dec. 19), 127 humanitarian aid trucks were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip: 67 trucks inspected at the Nitzana crossing and transferred to Gaza via the Rafah Crossing, and 60 trucks inspected and transferred to Gaza via Kerem Shalom. Additional equipment and personnel for the UAE and Jordanian field hospitals also entered the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday, (Dec. 19), 61 patients exited the Gaza Strip for treatment in the United Arab Emirates along with 71 escorts. Furthermore, four tankers of fuel and two tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza entered the Gaza Strip.

Today (Dec. 20), between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Shaboura neighborhood in Rafah to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.

Field Hospitals Overview

Field hospitals donated by Jordan and the United Arab Emirates are operational, treating patients in Khan Yunis and Rafah. The field hospital in Rafah operated by the Red Crescent is expected to begin accepting patients in the coming days.

Three additional field hospitals are currently in progress to enhance the medical response in the Gaza Strip. With a capacity of 41 beds and a personnel of 154, the Jordanian hospital has treated over 500 patients, while the United Arab Emirates field hospital, with a capacity of 200 beds and staffed with 100, has treated over 333 patients. The Red Crescent hospital, with a capacity of 50 beds and a personnel of 120, is expected to be operational soon.

Tactical Pause on Dec. 19

The tactical pause took place at the Al-Jniena neighborhood in Rafah, allowing for the flow of humanitarian aid.

Infrastructure Improvements

On Dec. 18, the first stage of implementing a water pipeline from mobile desalination facilities situated on the Egyptian side of Rafah was successfully concluded. This initiative, led by the United Arab Emirates, aims to provide clean water access to approximately 150,000 people.
