But the actions of Guterres and the organization he leads tell a very different story—a story of betrayal, hypocrisy, and outright complicity in supporting terror.

October 7, 2023: The Day Humanity Was Tested—and the UN Failed
On October 7, 2023, over 6,000 Palestinians infiltrated Israel. Among them, 3,800 were members of Hamas, UNRWA, and other Gaza-based terror groups, while 2,200 civilians actively participated in the bloodbath. What followed was one of the most brutal massacres in history: 1,163 people were murdered in cold blood, including babies, children, women, and the elderly. Entire families were slaughtered in their homes. Over 200 Israeli civilians were abducted and taken to Gaza, where they remain as hostages, enduring unspeakable suffering at the hands of Hamas terrorists.
Did António Guterres condemn this barbaric act? No. Did he call out Hamas for its crimes against humanity? No. Instead, Guterres doubled down on the UN’s long-standing anti-Israel bias, going so far as to suggest that the massacre was somehow the result of Israel’s own actions. The UN’s Active Role in Supporting Terror
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), a branch of the UN, has long been exposed as a hotbed of anti-Israel sentiment and a direct enabler of terrorism. Numerous reports have shown that UNRWA schools in Gaza have been used to store Hamas weapons, that its employees openly support Hamas, and that its curriculum incites violence against Israelis. This isn’t just passive negligence—it’s active complicity.
Under Guterres’ leadership, the UN has done nothing to address these blatant abuses. Instead, it continues to fund and support UNRWA, funneling resources into Gaza that ultimately benefit Hamas and its terror operations. Every dollar sent to UNRWA is another dollar that Hamas uses to build rockets, dig tunnels, and murder innocent civilians.
The Deafening Silence on Israeli Hostages
Perhaps the most egregious failure of António Guterres is his complete silence on the plight of the Israeli hostages. Over 200 Israelis—men, women, children, and elderly—are being held in Gaza by Hamas. They are being denied basic human rights, medical care, and communication with their families. Some are likely being tortured. And yet, not once has Guterres mentioned their suffering.
Where are the UN’s “principles” when it comes to these hostages? Where is the outcry? Where are the calls for their immediate release? If these were hostages from any other country, the UN would be up in arms. But because they are Israelis, the UN turns a blind eye. António Guterres’ tenure as Secretary-General has been marked by a clear pattern of anti-Israel rhetoric and actions. By refusing to condemn Hamas, by enabling UNRWA’s terror-supporting activities, and by staying silent on the October 7 massacre and the ongoing hostage crisis, Guterres has revealed himself to be not a leader of global conscience, but a spineless apologist for terror.
His actions—or lack thereof—embolden Hamas and other terrorist organizations. They send a message that the world will look the other way when Israelis are slaughtered, kidnapped, and terrorized. This is not leadership. This is complicity.
The World Must Wake Up
The UN under António Guterres is no longer a force for good—it is a platform for legitimizing terror and spreading anti-Israel propaganda. It is time for the international community to hold Guterres accountable for his disgraceful conduct. The UN must be reformed, starting with the removal of its current Secretary-General and a complete overhaul of its agencies, including UNRWA.
