Humanitarian Aid Efforts in Gaza – February 4, 2023
271 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip yesterday (Feb. 4). This marks the highest number of humanitarian aid trucks inspected and transferred in one day since the start of the war.
Details of Aid Transfers
112 humanitarian aid trucks were inspected at the Nitzana crossing and transferred to the Gaza Strip via the Rafah crossing, while 159 humanitarian aid trucks were inspected and transferred via Kerem Shalom. Among these, 180 trucks specifically carried food.
Emergency Medical Supplies
7 packages of medical supplies were airdropped by Jordan and the Netherlands, designated for medical facilities in the Gaza Strip. In addition, 24 packages of medical supplies were airdropped by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in coordination with Israel, the latest on Feb. 4. Furthermore, 5 packages of medical supplies were airdropped by Jordan and France, and 7 were airdropped by Jordan and The Netherlands.
Gas and Water Infrastructure
Yesterday, (Feb. 4) 4 tankers of cooking gas, designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza, have entered the Gaza Strip. Moreover, the second waterline from the Egyptian side of Rafah to the Gazan side of Rafah was successfully connected. This project, done by the United Arab Emirates, is expected to supply water to residents of the southern part of Gaza.
Baking Essentials and Future Planning
12 bakeries, providing 2 million pita breads a day, are operational, with additional ones in the planning process. The coordination of the repair of vital infrastructure was successfully completed.
Humanitarian Movement and Operations
Today, (Feb. 5) between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Salam neighborhood, in the town of Dier al Balah, Gaza, in order to enable the movement of humanitarian aid. Additionally, 62 foreign nationals are coordinated for exit today.
