Humanitarian Aid Efforts in Gaza – April 8
Inspection and Transfer of Aid Trucks
On April 8, 419 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip. Of these, 157 aid trucks were distributed within Gaza by UN aid agencies.
Airdrop of Food Packages
In conjunction with Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan, 224 aid packages containing hundreds of thousands of meals were airdropped over Gaza yesterday.
Coordination of Food Aid
Additionally, 33 trucks carrying food aid from the private sector were coordinated to the northern Gaza Strip. Furthermore, 21 aid trucks from the UAE and WFP were coordinated via a designated delivery channel directly to northern Gaza.
Entering of Cooking Gas
Four tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza entered the Gaza Strip yesterday.
Exit of Foreign Nationals
117 foreign nationals were scheduled to exit the Gaza Strip yesterday, with 13 more scheduled to exit today.
Jordanian Delivery Channel
The Jordanian delivery channel facilitated 33 trucks carrying food that were transferred to Gaza on April 8. Additionally, 70 more trucks are scheduled to enter today.
Medical Supplies for Field Hospital
Nine trucks of aid and medical supplies were sent to the Emirati field hospital. A Maternitainer, donated by UNFPA and designated for the IMC field hospital, also entered Gaza yesterday. A Maternitainer is a special medical unit for gynecological care and deliveries.
IMC Field Hospital Update
The IMC field hospital has completed its transfer to the Mawasi area. The field hospital will provide medical response and care to Gazans sheltering in the area.
Bakeries Supporting Local Population
Currently, 21 bakeries are operational in Gaza, providing over 2 million breads, rolls, and pita breads a day for the local population.
Planned Humanitarian Aid Pause
Today, April 9, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Salam neighborhood in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
