Humanitarian Aid Update: June 9 – June 10, 2023
Humanitarian Aid Trucks Transferred to Gaza
Yesterday (June 9), 167 humanitarian aid trucks were transferred to Gaza. The contents of 900 aid trucks are still waiting to be picked up by UN aid agencies.
Fuel and Cooking Gas Transfers
On June 9, 8 tankers of fuel and 4 tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure were also transferred to Gaza.
Jordanian Route Aid Coordination
In addition, 8 UNICEF aid trucks were coordinated via the Jordanian route on June 9.
Airdrops of Food Aid
Airdrops were also conducted, with 22 pallets containing close to 4 tons of food aid airdropped over Gaza on June 9.
Aid to Northern Gaza
Furthermore, 9 aid trucks and 1 fuel truck were coordinated to northern Gaza on June 9.
Coordination Requests Overview
Out of 44 overall coordination requests, 34 were approved on June 9. For northern Gaza specifically, out of 15 coordination requests, 12 were approved, and out of 17 UN coordination requests, 12 were approved as well. Since January 1, 2024, 88% of all coordination requests have been approved.
IDF Operation Pause for Humanitarian Aid
Today (June 10), between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Nasr neighborhood in Khan Younis to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
