Update on Humanitarian Aid in Gaza (April 14-15, 2023)
As of yesterday, April 14, a total of 318 aid trucks were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip. Out of these, 203 trucks were distributed within Gaza, with 77 trucks specifically containing food supplies.
Jordanian Route Aid Transfers
On the Jordanian route, 50 UNICEF and WFP trucks are scheduled to be transferred to Gaza today (April 15).
Food Aid Coordination
Yesterday, April 14, a total of 112 food aid trucks were coordinated to northern Gaza. A WFP convoy successfully entered via the new northern crossing, while the remaining trucks were transferred through the private sector.
Cooking Gas and Bakery Operations
Additionally, 4 tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza entered the region yesterday. A new WFP bakery in northern Gaza opened on the same day, producing approximately 650,000 pita breads daily. This bakery joins 2 other bakeries that opened in central Gaza last week, bringing the total to more than 23 operational bakeries in Gaza, providing over 3 million breads, rolls, and pita breads daily.
Patient Evacuations and Infrastructure Repairs
So far, 3,204 injured and sick individuals, along with 725 escorts, have been evacuated from the strip. The repair of vital infrastructure is currently underway.
Humanitarian Aid Movement Pause
Today, April 15, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al Majida neighborhood to facilitate the movement of humanitarian aid.
