Humanitarian Aid Efforts in Gaza – February 21-22

Inspection and Transfer of Humanitarian Trucks

88 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip yesterday (Feb. 21). 62 trucks were inspected at Nitzana and transferred via Rafah, and 26 trucks were inspected and transferred via Kerem Shalom.

Fuel and Gas Supply

Yesterday, (Feb. 21) 4 tankers of cooking gas and 2 tankers of fuel designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza have entered the Gaza Strip.

Foreign Nationals Exiting

29 foreign nationals exited the Gaza Strip yesterday (Feb. 21), with an additional 15 foreign nationals expected to exit today.

Humanitarian Airdrop

Overnight, we facilitated the airdrop of four tonnes of humanitarian aid by Britain and Jordan. The aid included medicines, fuel, and food, to the Jordanian hospital in Gaza.

Medical Support Deployment

A delegation of 20 doctors and medical staff entered the Gaza Strip yesterday (Feb. 21), in order to bolster the medical response.

Upcoming Floating Hospital

A United Arab Emirates floating hospital is expected to dock at the El-Arish port in the coming days. The floating hospital will be treating patients from Gaza.

Water Supply Project

The second waterline from the Egyptian side of Rafah to the Gazan side of Rafah was successfully connected. This is a project done by the United Arab Emirates and is expected to supply water to residents of the southern part of Gaza.

Bakeries Operational in Gaza

13 bakeries are operational in Gaza, providing over 2 million breads, rolls, and pita breads a day for the local population. Over the last 2 weeks, the number of operational bakeries went up from 10, to 12 and now to 15, following COGAT’s facilitation.

Repair of Vital Infrastructure

The coordination of the repair of vital infrastructure was successfully completed.

Humanitarian Aid Movement

Today, (Feb. 22) between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Salam neighborhood, in the town of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, in order to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
