Crossing Closures for Humanitarian Aid
In line with the agreement reached with the US, Egypt, and the UN, Kerem Shalom and Nitzana crossings are closed on Saturdays. This is to facilitate the UN’s distribution of goods on the Gazan side of Kerem Shalom and the reception on the Egyptian side of Rafah.
Current Situation of Aid Trucks
Eight trucks were collected by UN aid agencies; however, hundreds of trucks are still waiting to be collected and distributed within Gaza by UN aid agencies. A total of 46 aid trucks have been distributed by UN aid agencies within the Gaza Strip.
Medical and Humanitarian Aid Operations
On March 22, during the IDF’s precise operation against the Hamas terrorist organization at the Shifa Hospital, we facilitated the entry of trucks full of medical equipment, food, and water into Shifa Hospital. The aid was brought into a designated compound, where sick and wounded patients were evacuated to prevent harm to them.
Recent Aid Coordination
On March 23, 29 aid trucks were coordinated to the northern Gaza Strip, with 22 coordinated by the private sector and 7 by the World Central Kitchen Organizations. Additionally, 44 packages (1 ton each) of humanitarian aid were airdropped over northern Gaza.
Gas Supply and Bread Production
Furthermore, on March 23, four tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza entered the Gaza Strip. Currently, 21 bakeries are operational in Gaza, providing over 2 million breads, rolls, and pita breads each day for the local population.
Humanitarian Aid Movement Operations
Today, March 24, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Jniena neighborhood in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, in order to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
