The UN’s Hypocrisy Knows No Bounds

Silent on October 7 massacre, Israeli hostages, and Hamas terror, yet funding UNRWA’s terrorist ties

The United Nations has once again shown the world how detached from reality it truly is. António Guterres and the UN’s official accounts continue to post meaningless platitudes about “peace, stability, and a more hopeful future” while failing at the most basic tasks of their supposed mandate. This latest statement, following the hostage release deal, is a glaring example of their duplicity and moral bankruptcy.

Where Was the UN When It Mattered Most?

Since October 7, 2023, when over 6,000 Palestinians—many of them Hamas terrorists—invaded Israel, massacring 1,163 innocent people and abducting over 200 hostages, the UN has been conspicuously silent. Babies, women, elderly citizens, and children were butchered in their homes or dragged into Gaza, where they’ve endured unimaginable suffering for months.

The United Nations didn’t condemn the massacre. Not a single word from António Guterres or his office recognized the horrific terrorist act for what it was. Instead, the UN attempted to obscure the truth, casting blame on Israel for daring to defend itself from such barbarism.

The UNRWA Scandal: Supporting Terror in Gaza

The hypocrisy doesn’t stop at silence. The UN actively funds and supports UNRWA, an organization that operates as a lifeline for Hamas. UNRWA facilities have been used to store weapons, launch attacks, and brainwash children with hateful, anti-Israel propaganda. And yet, António Guterres and the UN continue to pour millions into this agency, turning a blind eye to the fact that they are directly enabling the same terrorists who carried out the October 7 massacre.

Hostage Release Deal: A Monument to Failure

The hostage release deal that Israel has been forced to accept is a painful reminder of just how badly the UN has failed. Israel has agreed to release convicted terrorists—some of whom participated in the very massacre that killed innocent civilians—in exchange for the return of its kidnapped citizens.

This deal isn’t a triumph of diplomacy; it’s a tragedy. It’s a stark illustration of how little the international community, and the UN in particular, has done to help. Instead of using its influence to pressure Hamas to release all hostages without conditions, the UN has stood idly by, watching as Israel pays the price for its failure.

And now, António Guterres has the audacity to claim that the UN is committed to “peace” and “stability”? Where was this commitment when it came to condemning the murder of innocent Israelis? Where was it when Hamas paraded Israeli hostages through the streets of Gaza? Where was it when rockets rained down on Israeli cities?

The United Nations: A Global Disgrace

The UN has completely abdicated its responsibility as a neutral arbiter of peace. Instead, it has become a megaphone for those who justify terror, a tool for organizations like Hamas to exploit, and a bystander to the suffering of innocent Israelis.

This latest statement from António Guterres is nothing more than an attempt to whitewash the UN’s failures and deflect attention from its complicity in allowing terrorism to thrive. If the UN truly cared about peace, it would have condemned the October 7 massacre unequivocally. It would have demanded the unconditional release of all hostages. And it would have cut off all funding to UNRWA, an organization that has been exposed time and time again as a supporter of Hamas’ agenda.

Enough Is Enough

António Guterres and the UN must be held accountable. Their blatant bias, their failure to act, and their continued support for organizations that enable terrorism are unacceptable. The world deserves better than empty words and hollow promises.

The United Nations has lost its way, and António Guterres has proven himself unfit to lead. Until there is real accountability and reform, the UN will remain what it is today: a global disgrace and a platform for hypocrisy.
