Following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas for the release of hostages, Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya delivered a speech from Qatar, which underscores the group’s commitment to its violent ideology. In his address, al-Haya praised the horrific massacre of October 7, 2023, in which over 1,400 Israelis were brutally murdered, including children, women, and the elderly, and openly vowed to repeat such atrocities. This speech is a chilling reminder of Hamas’s dedication to terror and the eradication of Israel.

Al-Haya’s rhetoric was filled with glorification of violence, labeling the October 7th massacre as an “achievement” and a “military miracle.” He referred to the attacks as a historic victory that “will be remembered for generations.” He openly celebrated the actions of Hamas militants, who engaged in atrocities against civilians, and called for continued “resistance” until the complete destruction of the State of Israel.

Furthermore, al-Haya explicitly thanked Hamas’s external allies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran, and Yemen’s Houthi movement, for their role in supporting the group’s so-called resistance efforts. This demonstrates the regional network of terror that works in unison to destabilize and spread violence under the guise of “resistance.”

This speech, laden with genocidal intent, proves unequivocally that Hamas remains an unrepentant terrorist organization. Their actions on October 7 were not anomalies but the fulfillment of their longstanding agenda to use terror as a tool of warfare. Al-Haya’s words reinforce the reality that Hamas has no interest in peace, negotiations, or coexistence but rather in the annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people. His explicit promise to repeat these horrors leaves no doubt that Hamas is determined to continue its campaign of violence and genocide.

The international community must not turn a blind eye to these declarations. Hamas cannot be allowed to rebuild its capabilities or continue to exist as a governing entity in Gaza. Its leadership openly glorifies acts of mass murder, seeks the destruction of a UN member state, and pledges to perpetuate terror. The world must recognize Hamas for what it is: a genocidal terrorist organization that will strike again if left unchecked.
