Kenneth O’Keefe, a former US Marine and activist, has expressed support for Palestinian resistance, including Hamas. In a 2010 interview, O’Keefe stated that he supports the right of self-defense for Palestinians and compared Hamas to the African National Congress under Nelson Mandela, refusing to recognize apartheid. He criticized the United States and Israel, asserting that he would engage in violent resistance if he were a citizen of Palestine, Iraq, or Afghanistan.

Kenneth O’Keefe operates on behalf of the Hamas organization. He has entered Gaza to form and train a commando unit for Hamas. O’Keefe has acknowledged having meetings with senior Hamas officials, including Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.
