Martin Griffiths, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, has voiced support for the Hamas terrorist organization. In a Sky News interview, Griffiths stated, “Hamas is not a terrorist group for us; as you know, it is a political movement.” He further claimed that it is “very, very difficult to dislodge these groups without a negotiated solution; which includes their aspirations.” In response, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, criticized Griffiths, saying he cannot claim to be acting in the name of “humanitarian” matters and labeled him “a collaborator of Hamas.”
