Muhammad Smiry is a Palestinian activist and journalist based in Gaza, known for his social media presence, particularly on Twitter (now X), where he shares his experiences and perspectives on life under occupation in Gaza.
Smiry describes himself as someone who was born, raised, and continues to live in Gaza. His Twitter bio states that he tweets about his “life under the occupation,” often using the hashtag #Gaza.
During the October 7, 2023 massacre, Smiry, like other Hamas supporters, celebrated the atrocities committed by Hamas.
He also stole thousands of dollars from donors to his various donation campaigns.
On his Twitter account, Smiry often claims that he and his family have nothing to eat and that they starve almost every day.
At night, he tweets that he is afraid it will be his last night alive, as he hears the bombings “very close.”
Smiry launched multiple a crowdfunding campaigns online and within a few days raised 50,000 Canadian dollars so that his family could escape from Gaza
but this isn’t true… Smiry managed to make a good fortune from the narrative of Palestinian impoverishment.
