Amichai Oster 24 years old, from Karnei Shomron. Son of Heward and Marcy. Brother to Jonathan, Sarah, Emuna, and Tova.
Sergeant first class (Res.) Amichai Oster served in the reserves as a combat soldier in the 7020 Battalion, part of the ‘Sharon’ Armored Brigade (5). He fell in battle in the northern Gaza Strip on the 20th of Tevet, 1.1.2024.
Amichai was a young man of values, filled with love for his people and his land. He enjoyed traveling throughout the country and playing music. Excelling in mathematics and computers, he was diligent, modest, and aimed for excellence in all his actions. Throughout his teenage years, he volunteered for an organization supporting children with disabilities and served as a guide in Bnei Akiva. Wherever he went, he found ways to help.
A year before his fall, he completed his regular army service and embarked on an extensive journey through East and North America. He planned to return to Israel and start studying computers in the upcoming semester. He cut short his trip to join his unit in the fighting in Gaza, despite being told there was no need. He returned and was assigned to another unit where his skills were needed in the fighting.
