Family Life

Born in 2005, Amitai grew up in Ramot Naftali, surrounded by a large and loving family. His parents, Hagit and Yitzhak, instilled in him the values of respect, kindness, and dedication to others. Amitai was the eldest sibling to twins, Oriah and Hadass, and was cherished by his extended family, including his grandparents, who were deeply involved in their community. His mother, a Lieutenant Colonel in the IDF reserves, served as a strong role model, inspiring his sense of responsibility and service. Amitai spent his childhood immersed in the beauty of the Galilee, excelling in sports, particularly soccer, and forming deep connections with those around him.

Amitai shared a unique bond with his best friend, Ori Malul, from Kibbutz Kfar Blum. The two were inseparable, described by many as “twin brothers.” This bond endured even after Ori’s tragic death in a car accident in January 2023. Amitai became a constant source of comfort and a living memory for Ori’s family, visiting them regularly, lighting candles in Ori’s honor, and carrying his scent and warmth into their home.

Military Service

Inspired by his mother and a deep sense of duty, Amitai enlisted in the Golani Brigade in 2024. From a young age, he aspired to serve in this elite combat unit, working tirelessly to prepare for the demanding selection process. Amitai’s commitment and determination were evident to all who knew him, as he dedicated himself fully to training. His peers and commanders admired his resilience, camaraderie, and leadership potential. It was during this meal that a Hezbollah drone struck, taking Amitai’s life along with three other soldiers.
