Ariel was 19 when he fell in battle defending Kibbutz Be’eri, fighting bravely against Hamas terrorists, merely a week and a half after completing his training course.
He was a gifted student and a voracious reader who studied Mishnah with his father, completing it by age 13. At the age of 17.5 he finished studying the entire Talmud.
Hiking and photography were among his hobbies, leading him to win several photography contests.
