Boaz Abraham was a beloved and courageous man who sacrificed his life to protect his community during the October 7th Massacre. A member of the emergency response team at Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak, he answered the call to defend his home on that fateful Saturday morning, even as his family took shelter in a fortified room. Boaz bravely stepped forward to protect his family and neighbors from terrorists infiltrating the kibbutz. In the last call to his family, at 8:30 a.m., he sounded fearful as he reported the terrorists’ incursion. Tragically, he lost his life defending his home.
A farmer who cultivated the land, Boaz was known for his wide smile and warm heart. He was married to Daniela and father to Ron, Inbal, and Michal. He had spent forty years living and working at Nir Yitzhak, having first arrived as part of a Nahal group to help develop the kibbutz. Boaz was a deeply cherished member of the community, always seen with a smile, whether walking the trails with his dog or sharing a laugh with friends, children, and elders.
His friends affectionately called him “Keh Tov,” recognizing his kind and generous spirit. He was committed to caring for others, looking after Thai workers on the kibbutz, and staying devoted to his agricultural work. His love for Daniela and their children knew no bounds, and he always brought joy to those around him with his good-natured humor.
His loss was deeply felt by the entire community, and those who knew him will forever remember his optimism and warmth. Boaz Abraham’s memory will remain an enduring symbol of love, friendship, and dedication. He was posthumously recognized as an IDF casualty. His community honored him as a protector of his home, a loyal friend, and a compassionate family man. May his memory be a blessing.
