Ido, the son of Miriam and Ra’anan, and brother to Gal and Amit, served as a combat medic in the Support Company of Golani’s 13th Battalion.

On the morning of October 7, at 6:30 a.m., when Hamas terrorists launched an attack on his outpost, Ido managed to send a final message to his family, saying, “Thank you for everything, love you.” When his family quickly called him back, he told them he had been shot and was badly wounded.

His outpost near the Gaza border was attacked by 50 Hamas terrorists, where he and eight other soldiers fought to the last bullet. For several days, his family searched for him in every hospital, hoping he had survived, but they were eventually informed that he had been killed in the battle. He was shot while treating a wounded soldier, as he called for others to take cover.
