Sergeant Ron Sherman, From Lehavim.
Ron was taken hostage on October 7 by Hamas Terrorists.
Sherman was recorded in a video released by Hamas as he was forcibly led from the shelter by armed terrorists who infiltrated the base.
His Father Alex said that due to his son’s asthma, he enlisted in the Ministry of Defense’s combat support unit – the Directorate of Coordination and Liaison: “He did a NCO course, managed to be in the service for ten months, acclimated excellently, was well-liked and performed the role of an officer in transit. That Saturday he was at the base. We received a call at 6:30 in the morning. It was very strange to us, and he would sound frightened and describe what was happening around him in a panic.”
“He thought it was just bombings, and in retrospect we realized it was a break-in by the terrorists to the base,” said the father. “He started hearing voices in Arabic and at that moment he said, ‘There are terrorists at the base.’ . I love you’ then the call was cut off. A WhatsApp conversation between Ron and his mother was published in the networks, where he writes to her: “Bye mom, I love you. That’s it, they’re here, it’s over.”
Dan, Sherman’s brother, published a video in which he asked the Red Cross to provide his brother with his inhaler: “I don’t know if he’s alive or dead, what are they doing to him there. I can’t imagine. He and the other abductees don’t have much time left. Please, please They took him out. I miss him so much and can’t imagine my life without him. I still have hope.”
