On November 29, 2020, Shoham enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and joined the elite Golani Brigade, where he quickly rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He excelled in his duties, and his dedication extended to managing the Golani Fallen Soldiers Memorial Museum. Shoham’s respect for those who sacrificed their lives for the nation was a testament to his deep character and integrity.
Shoham’s dreams were as big as his heart. He aspired to be a DJ, planning to pursue his passion for music immediately after his military service. However, his life was tragically cut short on October 7, 2023, during the “Swords of Iron” conflict. While attending the Nova Festival in Re’im, Shoham was murdered in a brutal attack by terrorists. What was meant to be a celebration of music and unity turned into chaos when the festival was targeted by terrorists. Shoham, along with his uncle Dean and his dear friend Eitan Shnir, was tragically killed during the assault.
Shoham’s passing sent waves of grief throughout his community. His sister Lian expressed her sorrow with a heartfelt tribute: “My dearest Shoham, my brother, I miss you so much. I promise to honor you everywhere.” This sentiment was shared by many who knew Shoham for his good-hearted nature and bravery.
