Tzur was born in April 2002 in the city of Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut and graduated from Lapid Modiin Yeshiva High School. After completing his studies, he attended the Hesder Yeshiva in Ma’alot before enlisting in the Nahal Brigade. He successfully passed the selection process for the elite reconnaissance unit, where he quickly distinguished himself as one of the leading soldiers on his team, known for his exceptional professionalism. Among his many roles, Tzur served as the team commander’s radio operator, a grenadier, and was responsible for operating the unit’s drone.
His friends and family describe him as a good and loyal companion, always at the center of the action. His most outstanding quality was his infectious joy for life. Tzur was never without a smile, and he ensured that everyone around him had a reason to smile as well.
On October 7, when the news of the Hamas attack began to spread, Tzur was at his parents’ house. Without hesitation, he left for the Gaza border to help save lives. Arriving without proper equipment, he was initially not permitted to join the fight. Undeterred, Tzur managed to find a weapon and gear, and immediately joined the battle to help eliminate the threat.
About two weeks before his death, Tzur was lightly injured in the face during the fighting in Gaza and was evacuated for treatment. Although doctors advised him to rest at home for several days, he refused, insisting that he could not leave his friends, his brothers-in-arms, behind. After spending just one day at home, Tzur returned to his unit.
During a mission in the Rafah area of Gaza, his unit was called to locate Hamas tunnel shafts. The team encountered a booby-trapped tunnel, which exploded, leading to Tzur’s death.
