Forces of the 98th Division have begun operations in the Shuja’iyya area; the IDF and the Shin Bet attacked a terrorist operating from a humanitarian space in the center of the Gaza Strip during the night.
In the last 24 hours, forces from the 98th Division have initiated a divisional operation in the Shuja’iyya area, both above and below ground. This follows intelligence indicating the presence of terrorists and terror infrastructure in the area.
Combat fighters from Brigade 7 have begun focused operations during daylight in the Shuja’iyya area. Throughout the night, the combat team of the Paratroopers Brigade started operations and raided terror infrastructure in the area.
Alongside the entry of the forces, aircraft from the Air Force, in coordination with the firepower of the 98th Division, attacked dozens of terror infrastructures belonging to the Hamas terror organization. Additionally, several significant airstrikes preceded the operation in northern Gaza, during which dozens of terrorists hiding in schools and facilities used by the UNRWA organization were eliminated.
During the night, Air Force fighter jets, guided by intelligence from Military Intelligence and the Shin Bet, targeted a Hamas terrorist located in a structure in the Deir al-Balah area. The terrorist operated from the humanitarian space, which the organization used as a shield for its terror activities.
As part of the preparation process for the strike, the civilian population around the structure from which the terrorist operated was evacuated. Aerial reconnaissance was conducted, precision munitions were used, and additional measures were taken to minimize harm to civilians.
The Hamas terror organization regularly violates international law while systematically exploiting civilian structures and the civilian population as human shields for terror activities against the State of Israel.
