Humanitarian Aid Deliveries to Gaza: Recent Updates
On February 28, a total of 221 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip. Of these, 147 trucks were processed through Kerem Shalom, while 74 trucks were inspected at Nitzana.
Food Convoy Arrives in Northern Gaza
Overnight on February 29, a convoy of 30 trucks carrying food made its way to the northern Gaza Strip. In the past few days, nearly 90 additional trucks were transferred to the northern part of Gaza.
Gas Tankers and Airdrop Operations
On February 28, 4 tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza successfully entered the region. Additionally, an airdrop operation on February 27 delivered 160 packages of food and medical supplies to residents in southern Gaza as well as to the Jordanian field hospital located in Khan Yunis. This collaborative effort involved multiple countries, including Israel, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, France, and the USA.
New Shelter Complex for Residents
The construction of the Egyptian shelter complex in West Khan Yunis has been completed. This complex contains approximately 300 tents and residents have already begun moving in. In total, the complex will have the capacity to accommodate around 3,000 residents.
Food Assistance from WFP
Furthermore, 24 WFP food trucks are expected to enter the Gaza Strip via the Jordanian Channel, enhancing food aid efforts.
Healthcare Support from the UAE
A United Arab Emirates floating hospital docked at El-Arish port on February 22 and has begun receiving Gazan patients for treatment.
Bakery Operations in Gaza
Currently, there are 20 operational bakeries in Gaza, providing over 2.5 million loaves of bread, rolls, and pita bread daily for the local population. The number of operational bakeries has increased significantly from 10 to 12, then to 15, and now to 20, thanks to COGAT’s facilitation.
Infrastructure Repairs and Aid Movement
The coordination for repairing vital infrastructure has been successfully completed. Today, on February 29, the IDF will pause operations in the Rafah Refugee Camp between 10:00 and 14:00 to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
