Born to Yehuda and Ronit Bachar, Ofek was a cherished son and brother to Shagai and Ofir. He grew up in Ness Ziona and was an alumnus of Golda School. His family and friends remember him as a courageous individual who was deeply loved and surrounded by many who stood by him throughout his journey.

On October 7, 2024, while on leave, Ofek and his friends responded to the attacks by descending to Kfar Aza, where they engaged in combat and assisted in evacuating the wounded. During this operation, he sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Demonstrating remarkable resilience, he returned to his unit shortly after, continuing to lead his soldiers despite his injury.

Tragically, on October 16, 2024, during a mission to locate terrorist infrastructure in a building in southern Lebanon, Ofek and his team encountered hidden Hezbollah militants. A fierce firefight ensued, resulting in the elimination of the terrorists but at the cost of Ofek’s life and those of four fellow soldiers.
