Humanitarian Aid Updates: Key Developments
Aid Trucks Entry
Yesterday, 158 trucks carrying humanitarian goods were transferred to Gaza. Trucks entered via the Kerem Shalom (118 trucks) and the Erez (40 trucks) crossings.
Hamas Attacks
Yesterday, terrorists fired anti-tank missiles at IDF troops who were operating in the area of eastern Rafah adjacent to the Humanitarian Route, injuring several soldiers. Consequently, movement along the Humanitarian Route was temporarily halted as the area now constitutes an active combat zone. Terrorist organizations in Gaza continue to use any opportunity to carry out attacks against soldiers at the expense of Gazan civilians, including abusing humanitarian routes and aid designated for the civilian population.
Aid Collection
94 aid trucks were collected from the Kerem Shalom Crossing. Currently, there are over 600 trucks worth waiting to be collected from the Gazan side of Kerem Shalom crossing.
Fuel Transfers
6 tankers of cooking gas designated for the operation of essential infrastructure were transferred (August 6).
Jordanian Route Coordination
16 UNICEF aid trucks were coordinated via the Jordanian Route yesterday.
Northern Gaza Aid Coordination
40 aid trucks were coordinated to northern Gaza yesterday.
Bakeries Operational
13 bakeries are operational (7 in northern Gaza and 6 in central Gaza), producing close to 3 million pita loaves a day.
Medical Transfers
To date, 3,385 patients and 927 escorts have exited Gaza for medical treatment.
Collaborative Aid Efforts
We are working with international partners such as the WHO and UNICEF to facilitate a vaccination campaign and other medical responses. Since the start of the war, we have facilitated the entry of over 2 million doses of vaccines into Gaza, with partners from the international community.
Local Tactical Pause
Today, (August 7) between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al-Tzachabah neighborhood in Deir Al Balah to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
