Humanitarian Aid Update – March 8

On March 7, a total of 237 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were inspected and transferred to Gaza for the civilian population. Out of these, 222 trucks were distributed by aid organizations to shelters and Gazans in need.

Food Aid Distribution

Overnight on March 7, 13 food trucks made their way to northern Gaza, all coordinated by the private sector. In recent days, over 120 trucks have been transferred to the northern Gaza Strip.

Cooking Gas and UNICEF Involvement

Additionally, on March 7, 4 tankers of cooking gas were designated for the operation of essential infrastructure and have entered the Gaza Strip. Truck convoys by UNICEF via the Jordan delivery channel also entered Gaza on the same day, marking the beginning of UNICEF utilizing this route alongside the World Food Programme (WFP).

Airdrop Initiatives

Furthermore, 232 packages were airdropped by Egypt and the UAE on March 7. Since the start of the conflict, in cooperation with the USA, UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Holland, and France, a total of 26 airdrops have occurred, delivering over 1200 packages of humanitarian aid, most of which were targeted to northern Gaza.

Foreign Nationals Exiting Gaza

As of today, March 8, 46 foreign nationals are expected to exit the Gaza Strip, while 55 foreign nationals successfully exited yesterday.

Healthcare Initiatives

A United Arab Emirates floating hospital has docked at the El-Arish port on February 22 and has begun receiving Gazan patients for treatment. Additionally, 20 bakeries are currently operational in Gaza, providing over 2.5 million breads, rolls, and pita breads each day for the local population.

Repairing Vital Infrastructure

The coordination for the repair of vital infrastructure in Gaza has been successfully completed.

IDF Operations Pause

Today, March 9, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Rafah refugee camp located in the southern Gaza Strip, allowing for the movement of humanitarian aid.
