Humanitarian Aid Updates for Gaza (April 17, 2023)
Aid Truck Deliveries
As of yesterday, April 16, 376 aid trucks were inspected and transferred to the Gaza Strip. Out of these, 215 trucks were distributed within Gaza, with 150 of them containing food supplies.
Currently, there are 700 trucks’ worth of aid awaiting pick-up by UN agencies on the Gazan side of Keren Shalom.
Airdrop Operations
On April 16, 98 pallets containing tens of thousands of packages of aid were successfully airdropped into northern Gaza.
Additional Aid to Northern Gaza
In an effort to provide more support, 160 trucks of aid were coordinated to northern Gaza, with a WFP convoy utilizing the new northern crossing.
Additionally, 4 tankers of cooking gas, which are essential for the operation of critical infrastructure in Gaza, also entered the region on April 16.
Food and Medical Aid Coordination
On the same day, 8 trucks of flour were coordinated through the Ashdod port program. Furthermore, 6 trucks carrying medical aid were sent to the Emirati Field Hospital, and a personnel change was executed.
Foreign Nationals Exiting Gaza
Thirteen foreign nationals were scheduled to exit Gaza on April 16.
Bakeries in Operation
More than 24 bakeries are currently operational in Gaza, producing over 3 million pieces of bread, rolls, and pita breads every day.
Evacuations and Infrastructure Repair
So far, 3,204 injured and sick individuals, along with 725 escorts, have been evacuated from the Gaza Strip. The repair of vital infrastructure is also underway.
Humanitarian Aid Movement
Today, April 17, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF plans to pause operations in the Babach neighborhood to facilitate the movement of humanitarian aid.
