Humanitarian Aid Update: April 17, 2023
Aid Truck Inspections and Distributions
A total of 342 aid trucks were inspected and successfully transferred to the Gaza Strip yesterday, April 17. Out of these, 153 trucks were distributed within Gaza, with 97 trucks specifically containing food supplies.
Airdrop Operations
Additionally, 104 pallets containing tens of thousands of packages of aid were airdropped into northern Gaza on the same day, April 17.
Aid to Northern Gaza
A total of 90 trucks entered northern Gaza. Specifically, 17 trucks of aid were delivered via the new northern crossing, while 4 WFP trucks made deliveries through the fence road. Moreover, 65 private sector food aid trucks also contributed to the support efforts on April 17.
Jordanian Route Coordination
On April 17, 36 trucks were coordinated through the Jordanian Route to aid in the delivery of supplies.
Fuel and Gas Supplies
Furthermore, 4 tankers of cooking gas and 4 tankers of fuel for essential infrastructure operations entered Gaza yesterday, April 17.
Flour Distribution
In addition, 9 trucks of flour were coordinated via the Ashdod port program on April 17.
Foreign Nationals Exit
On the same day, 9 foreign nationals were scheduled to exit Gaza.
Bakeries Operational in Gaza
Currently, more than 24 bakeries are operational in Gaza, providing over 3 million breads, rolls, and pita breads daily.
Evacuations and Infrastructure Repair
So far, a total of 3,259 injured and sick individuals and 737 escorts have been evacuated from the strip. Repair efforts for vital infrastructure are currently underway.
IDF Humanitarian Pause
Today, April 17, between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the El Bashiti neighborhood to facilitate the movement of humanitarian aid.
Medical Efforts
To enhance first responder capabilities, 105 ambulances entered the Gaza Strip. The donations include:
- 36 ambulances donated by Kuwait
- 2 ambulances donated by Egypt
- 8 ambulances donated by Qatar
- 29 ambulances donated by Saudi Arabia
- 16 ambulances donated by Turkey
- 10 ambulances donated by the United Arab Emirates
- 2 ambulances donated by Australia
- 1 ambulance donated by Pakistan
- 1 ambulance donated by Libya
