On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched the deadliest terrorist attack in Israel’s history, murdering 1,163 innocent people, including women, children, and elderly civilians, while abducting 251 hostages into Gaza. This was not an act of resistance but a calculated massacre, designed to terrorize and break the spirit of Israel’s citizens. Hamas failed.
Yet, in February 2025, Hamas leader Khalil Al-Hayya boldly declared:
“Operation Al-Aqsa Flood achieved all its objectives, foremost among them humiliating this usurping entity and shattering its image as an invincible force. The liberation of Palestine—all of Palestine—has now become possible.”
Al-Hayya’s statement reveals two things:
- Hamas is delusional, believing that mass murder and war crimes amount to victory.
- Hamas still holds the genocidal ambition of eradicating Israel and its people.
A “Victory” Built on Terrorism and War Crimes
For Hamas, the word “victory” is drenched in the blood of innocent civilians. Their idea of triumph is the slaughter of babies, the rape and mutilation of women, and the burning alive of entire families. The October 7 attack was not a military operation—it was a premeditated act of ethnic cleansing, in which Hamas terrorists stormed into Israeli communities with the sole purpose of butchering everyone in their path. This was not resistance. This was terrorism in its purest, most horrifying form. The world watched as Hamas broadcasted its own atrocities, proudly livestreaming the execution of civilians, the desecration of bodies, and the gleeful torment of their victims.
Israeli forensic teams uncovered evidence that defies comprehension. In homes across the Gaza border region, families were found executed together, huddled in the safe rooms they thought would protect them. Babies were not just killed but beheaded, their tiny bodies burned beyond recognition. Elderly Holocaust survivors were slaughtered in their wheelchairs, many tortured before being executed. Hamas terrorists took young women, brutalized them, and left their bodies on display, desecrated in ways too horrific to describe. Civilians, including children, were kidnapped and paraded through Gaza like war trophies, as Hamas revelers cheered, danced, and spat on the hostages. This was not war. This was sadism, carried out with a cruelty that exposed Hamas’ true nature to the world.
Khalil Al-Hayya’s claim that Hamas “shattered Israel’s image as an invincible force” is not just false—it is laughable. The reality since October 7 tells a very different story. Hamas has suffered its worst military defeat in history. The Iron Swords War has obliterated Hamas’ military infrastructure, wiping out entire battalions and eliminating key commanders. Their tunnel networks—once a symbol of their tactical advantage—have been systematically destroyed. The group is running out of weapons, leadership, and places to hide.
At the same time, Hamas’ grip over Gaza is slipping. Palestinians themselves are turning against them. Hamas has not only failed to protect the people of Gaza, but it has actively used them as human shields, positioning weapons inside schools, hospitals, and mosques. It has hoarded food, fuel, and medical supplies meant for civilians, reserving them for its fighters while everyday Gazans struggle to survive. Israel, despite fighting a war against Hamas, continues to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, yet Hamas diverts it, ensuring that suffering remains high to fuel international sympathy.
Meanwhile, Iran—the terror group’s main benefactor—has also paid the price for its role in this war. Iran’s proxies across the region have suffered devastating losses. Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iranian-backed militias have launched attack after attack on Israel, only to be met with devastating Israeli retaliation. Even Iran itself was struck for its role in orchestrating these attacks, something it never anticipated. Hamas’ so-called “flood” has turned into a tidal wave of destruction—but it is Hamas that is drowning.
Far from a victory, Hamas’ reckless actions have led to its near-total destruction. The only thing it has succeeded in is bringing devastation to the people it claims to fight for. If this was Hamas’ idea of success, then it is a success built on the suffering of Palestinians and the shattered bodies of innocents.
Iran’s Proxy War Against Israel
Hamas’ so-called “liberation” is not about Palestinian independence—it is part of Iran’s strategy to destabilize the region and destroy Israel. Iran, through its terrorist arm the IRGC, has poured billions of dollars into Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terror groups, funding their genocidal ambitions.
Why? Because Iran sees Hamas as a weapon, not as a movement for Palestinian freedom. The real goal is:
- To keep Gaza in a permanent state of war, ensuring endless conflict with Israel.
- To create global sympathy for Hamas, using Palestinian civilian deaths (caused by Hamas itself) as propaganda.
- To bleed Israel through constant attacks, stretching its military thin across multiple fronts, including Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen.
Al-Hayya’s statement reflects Hamas’ role in Iran’s plan. Hamas is not an independent actor; it is a pawn in Iran’s regional ambitions, a tool to sacrifice Palestinian lives in pursuit of an Islamic Republic-led Middle East.
Israel Will Never Be Defeated
Hamas’ belief that “all of Palestine” will be “liberated” is nothing more than a genocidal fantasy. The reality on the ground tells a completely different story. Despite the horrors of October 7, Israel has emerged stronger than ever. Rather than breaking the Israeli spirit, Hamas’ brutal attack has only united the Israeli people like never before. The resilience of Israel in the face of terror has proven that the Jewish state will not be intimidated, nor will it allow such atrocities to happen again.
At the same time, Hamas’ leadership is being systematically eliminated. Israel’s relentless counteroffensive has hunted down and killed top commanders, crippling the terror group’s ability to function. Its once-formidable network of tunnels, which allowed terrorists to move freely beneath Gaza, has been destroyed, forcing Hamas fighters out into the open, where they are quickly neutralized. Their rocket stockpiles have been depleted, and the group is struggling to maintain any effective military capability. Many of its fighters have either been killed, captured, or have gone into hiding, knowing that their so-called resistance is crumbling around them.
Khalil Al-Hayya’s statement is not a declaration of victory but rather an admission of desperation. Hamas has lost on every front—militarily, politically, and strategically. Far from advancing the Palestinian cause, its reckless actions have led to the death and suffering of the very people it claims to represent. The Palestinian civilians in Gaza are the ones paying the heaviest price, while Hamas’ leadership hides in bunkers or flees abroad, abandoning their own people to suffer the consequences of their failed war.
But Israel will not stop. It will continue until every last hostage is freed, until Hamas is dismantled forever, and until Iran’s terrorist grip on the region is broken. There is no future for Hamas—its flood of terror will be met with a tidal wave of justice. The only question that remains is how long Hamas will continue to sacrifice Palestinian lives before its inevitable and complete defeat.
