Crossings Closed for Humanitarian Efforts
In line with the agreement reached with the US, Egypt, and the UN, Kerem Shalom and Nitzana crossings will be closed on Saturdays. This closure aims to facilitate the UN's distribution of goods on the Gazan side of Kerem Shalom and the reception on the Egyptian side of Rafah.
Recent Deliveries to Gaza
Yesterday, (Feb. 17) 4 tankers of cooking gas and 2 tankers of fuel designated for the operation of essential infrastructure in Gaza entered the Gaza Strip. Additionally, the second waterline from the Egyptian side of Rafah to the Gazan side of Rafah was successfully connected. This project, undertaken by the United Arab Emirates, is expected to supply water to residents of the southern part of Gaza.
Operational Bakeries in Gaza
Currently, 15 bakeries are operational in Gaza, providing over 2 million breads, rolls, and pita breads each day for the local population. Over the last two weeks, the number of operational bakeries increased from 10 to 12, and now to 15, following the facilitation by COGAT.
Infrastructure Repairs and Humanitarian Aid
The coordination of the repair of vital infrastructure was successfully completed. Today, (Feb. 18) between 10:00 and 14:00, the IDF will pause operations in the Al Shaboura neighborhood of Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, to enable the movement of humanitarian aid.
Water Infrastructure Developments
Israel opened two water pipes from Israel — Birkat Sa'id and Bani Suheila — providing water to hundreds of thousands of residents in the southern Gaza Strip.
