Amir Eyal was a brave and dedicated soldier who tragically lost his life defending his country during the October 7th terrorist attack. At just 19 years old, Amir served in the Border Protection Corps at the Nahal Oz base. Born on January 4, 2004, in Haifa to Sharon and Shay, Amir grew up with his two siblings, Shahar and Shir.
He enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces on August 15, 2022, quickly proving himself to be a diligent and devoted soldier. On that fateful Saturday morning, Amir sent his family updates via WhatsApp, sharing his fears as the attack unfolded. He reported that their base was under assault and that fighting was intense. By 7:18 a.m., all contact with Amir ceased, and his phone was later traced to Gaza. On Wednesday, October 11, his family received the devastating news that Amir had been murdered.
Amir Eyal was laid to rest at the Haifa Military Cemetery, leaving behind grieving parents, siblings, and a nation that will remember his bravery. His sacrifice, made while protecting his comrades and country, will never be forgotten. May his memory be a blessing.
