On the morning of October 7, Dolev, who was about to start his post-military service vacation the next day, called his friend stationed at the Nahal Oz outpost and learned about the ongoing battle with invading Hamas terrorists. He drove towards the outpost, joined other soldiers along the way, and reached the Gaza border, where he aided the outnumbered soldiers.

While evacuating wounded soldiers from the “Paga” (Magen Be’eri) outpost near the Gaza border, the vehicle he was in was struck by a Kornet anti-tank missile.
