HomeHeroesShimon Yehoshua Asulin

Shimon was a student at the “Midbara KeEden” Hesder Yeshiva in Mitzpe Ramon and the son of Rabbi Rafi Asulin, the head of the “Sha’alei Torah” high school Yeshiva in the city of Beit Shemesh.

On October 8, he was supposed to go on a trip abroad. Instead, he was enlisted on the day of the Hamas attack, joining his reservist Engineering Corps unit to help fight the Hamas terrorists.

After fighting in northern Gaza, he was discharged for a month and a half. However, he insisted on volunteering to go back and fight. During a house-clearing mission in Khan Younis, his team encountered Hamas terrorists, and he was killed in the ensuing gunfight.
