Yigal joined the police force in 1993, initially serving as a patrol officer for two years before becoming a bomb disposal engineer in the Ofakim Police Force, Southern District, where he served for 27 years. Throughout his service, he demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism. He loved and greatly valued his work and colleagues.
In the last decade, Yigal volunteered with the Jewish Agency and served as a representative of the Israeli Police in the Jewish community of New Jersey.
On October 7th, Yigal worked the night shift and was supposed to give a training session in Re’im. On his way there, he received news of a Hamas attack and was instructed to return to Ofakim. Upon their arrival, his group encountered terrorists engaged in a killing spree in the streets. Yigal lost his life while leading a team of police officers in combat against the Hamas terrorists.
He was planning to retire in a few months after nearly 30 years of service in the police force.
