Bisan Owda is a Palestinian content creator and journalist associated with Al Jazeera and AJ+. She has gained recognition for her TikTok and Instagram videos from Gaza, but her content is heavily influenced by her ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and Hamas. Both organizations promote hateful and violent ideologies, which she advocates. Despite these affiliations, she recently won a Peabody Award and has been nominated for an Emmy.

Who is Bisan Owda? Bisan Owda presents herself as a “Palestinian journalist, activist, and filmmaker,” with a significant social media following. She is known for documenting the situation in Gaza, particularly during conflicts between Israel and Hamas, and often begins her videos with, “It’s Bisan from Gaza and I’m still alive.”

GoFundMe Scandal: In October 2023, Bisan launched a GoFundMe campaign, raising nearly $400,000, claiming that the funds would support Gazan families in need. However, she faced serious accusations of misusing these donations for personal gain. In March, Gazan activist Hamza Howidy exposed her for misappropriating the funds. Bisan attempted to justify her actions by claiming the money was needed for her business.

Life Before the War: Since at least 2015, Bisan has been involved with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), openly supporting their violent history and anti-Semitic ideology. She has consistently advocated for terrorism and violence against Jews and the State of Israel.
